As we continue to celebrate the incredible educators within the St. Johns County School District (SJCSD), I am honored to recognize two outstanding teachers who exemplify the passion, dedication and leadership that define our district.

First, I am proud to introduce our 2025 St. Johns County Teacher of the Year, Ms. Jill Adams. As an Instructional Literacy Coach at Creekside High School, Ms. Adams is a guiding force in the district, ensuring that every student and teacher she works with has the tools for success. With years of experience across multiple grade levels and schools, she has proven to be an invaluable mentor, inspiring both students and educators alike. Her ability to foster collaboration, drive instructional excellence and uplift those around her makes her an incredible asset to our community.

We also celebrate Mr. James Tansey of Fruit Cove Middle School, our 2025 Rookie Teacher of the Year. A career-changer and proud graduate of the SJCSD, Mr. Tansey brings a fresh perspective to education, mentoring both students and fellow teachers. His commitment to building strong relationships and creating an engaging learning environment is evident in his enthusiasm for teaching. He strives to inspire students daily, embracing the motto: “WE FLY TOGETHER!”

The influence of great educators extends far beyond the classroom. Teachers like Ms. Adams and Mr. Tansey remind us that mentorship and leadership shape the future of our students. Their passion and dedication reflect the core values of the SJCSD, ensuring that students receive not just an education, but the support and encouragement to achieve their dreams.

As we move into the final months of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank all our teachers, staff, students and families for their hard work and commitment to excellence. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Spring Break, filled with time to rest, recharge and create lasting memories with loved ones.

Sincerely,

Tim Forson
