
We are grateful for our Veterans! As Veterans Day nears, parades and events showing appreciation are ready to be enjoyed.
Volusia Valor:
- MOAS is commemorating Veterans Day with a USO Celebration from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Nov. 11. Join the art center for a new exhibit showcasing artifacts from WWII. World War II: Stories from the America Experience will be unveiled with beverages and homefront inspired hors-d’oeuvres with gallery tours from senior curator James “Zach” Zacharias and historian Ryan Lowry. Tickets cost $25 for members and $30 for non-members. A portion of the proceeds will go to the USO. Reservations can be made by registering online or by calling 386-255-0285.
- The Ponce Inlet is expressing thanks to military personnel by offering free admission to the lighthouse grounds. On Nov. 11, military veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy the scenic area for free. Hours are from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Visit the inlet and lighthouse website for more activities and information.
- Deland is hosting patriotic floats and marching bands during a Veterans parade on Nov. 11. Take your seat along Woodland Boulevard and clap for military personnel. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m., and the parade commences at 10 a.m.

Flagler Festivities:
- Flagler County comes together to host a county-wide parade. On Nov. 11 at 10 a.m., the parade procession will march from Bunnell Coquina City Hall and finish at the Flagler County Courthouse. All are welcome to attend. For those interested in having a float or walking in the parade, visit this link.
St. Johns Salutes:
- Veterans Council of St Johns County and the Military Officers of America, Ancient City Chapter are uniting to host a veteran’s tribute on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Anastasia Baptist Church. St. Augustine High School chorale will be providing music with a keynote speech from BG William Temple, Deputy Commanding General FLANG. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9 a.m., with the program starting at 11 a.m. Location: 1650 A1A S
- The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum commemorates armed forces veterans and pays tribute to its military legacy on Nov. 10. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and is free. Reservations must be made by Nov. 6. Go here to RSVP.
