“Art must be life — it must belong to everybody.” – Marina Abramović

“The urge to draw must be quite deep within us, because children love to do it” – David Hockney

Children are filled with joy and wonder. Their imagination is endless. With a little bit of direction and motivation, kids can achieve anything they want. Art is the perfect tool to help them channel their energy and efforts towards something that can help build a lot of character.  Whether it is fine arts, music, theatre, mixed media or another form, art is an integral part of development.  Most parents introduce their children to the arts without thinking – singing to a newborn, providing your children with play doh and crayons for self-expression, coloring eggs at Easter and many other times.

Our authors have filled this issue with articles on imaginative play, becoming artsy and a local artist shares her secrets for engaging her children in the arts.  They also have tips on raising more expressive kids and identifying your child’s learning style.

Our Florida Baby Magazine is out, so head to parentmagazinesflorida.com to check it out online (including baby and toddler directories), check for the print copies at your local library, or stop by Office Divvy in Palm Coast to pick up a copy.

I want to take a moment and thank our fantastic Editorial Advisory Board.  These people give their time and great ideas for the magazine.  We could not bring you this magazine every month without their input.  We would like your input also.  Drop us a line at info@touchpointis.com and let us know what you like and what you would like to see more of.

Hope you have a creative September!
