Back to School! It makes me envision the traditional child in new clothes, with a backpack getting on a school bus and meeting their new teacher in person. This year, everything is different, fluid. Plans have changed without notice. Parents, teachers, administrators and students have all had to change direction again and again.
But even with all the changes, the beginning of school is still very exciting. New teachers, new classmates (even if over zoom or chat), new things to learn. As a retired Principal, I still get excited at the beginning of the school year, and this issue of Parent is near and dear to my heart.
We are excited to share with you some great content. We have a profile on the technology challenges the current learning environment brings with it, and how our cities and school districts are meeting those challenges. We have tips on how to raise confident kids, how to return to school safely if that is your choice, or how to make your home an ideal learning environment. We have a list of educational apps that you can use on the go, and an insightful article on the impact of social media on our teens.
