Happy Wife. Happy Life.

My wife, the Editor of this magazine, asked me on Mother’s Day last month if I would write the Publisher’s/Editor’s Letter for this issue. Given that this is the Dad’s Issue I was happy to oblige. And then of course – Happy Wife … Happy Life.

In 2020 Mother’s Day and Father’s Day will be memorable because of COVID-19 and the limits on us being together. Clearly our opportunities to enjoy Father’s Day are constrained more than normal. But the secret to the day isn’t determined by just what we do but who we do it with. We need to text, FaceTime, Zoom or use whatever technology is available that allows us to break the constraints and say Thank You and We Love You to Our Dads, Step-Dads, Adopted Dads, Granddads and Uncles. The men who make our lives complete!

June is also typically a time to celebrate school graduations with loved ones. However, graduations will look very different this year due to COVID-19.  To help families celebrate their graduates, we have created a free, online gallery to showcase graduates at all levels. Please visit our virtual Graduation Gallery to add your graduate today.

In this issue, our articles focus on Dads, strategies for a successful summer, mindfulness during Covid-19 and stress reducing apps for kids.  June’s Book Nook features a local, Florida author and the new Sunshine State Young Reader Award titles for 20/21. Our gallery is filled with fun-loving photos of kids with their Dads and our Ask the Doc features the article: Self-Care is Gender Neutral.

We hope these resources support your family in having the best summer together!

And to all of the Fathers and Surrogate Fathers, we wish you a very special Father’s Day.
