What is your school’s motto and how do you make it come alive in your school? Chisholm Elementary: “We were learn, grow and succeed!” We make our motto come alive by teaching our students that success is available to all, but you must work for it.

Describe your school’s atmosphere? Our school’s atmosphere is one of FAMILY. When you come to Chisholm you become a part of something bigger than yourself, you become part of the Chisholm Family.

What do you enjoy most about being a principal? The ability to positively impact students, their families as well as our faculty and staff. What could be better?

What is your favorite book? I love so many. My current favorite is The Bottoms by Joe Lansdale.

What is your favorite quote? “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.” I heard Cowboy Bob (a local tv host) say it when I was in elementary school over 50 years ago and it has always stuck with me.

What brings out the best in every student? Relationships! Relationships! Relationships! If a student knows you truly care they will do their best every time.

How do you communicate with parents? Whatever way works best for parents: phone, in person, e-mail, at parent pick-up. I’m available.

What are you most proud of about your school? That we have a tradition of excellence coupled with a Family culture.

What message do you want every student at your school to hear? You have the power within you to do whatever you desire, and we are here to help you achieve those dreams.
