On behalf of the School Board and staff, I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving!

This time of year reinforces how grateful I am to serve the district with so many caring and selfless individuals. It is a blessing to have the opportunity to work for an institution whose sole purpose is to serve children, and every day I witness acts of kindness by people throughout our school district and the community.

This season of giving is one that our employees, parents, teachers, staff, school board members and students open their hearts and hands to help others. The unwavering community support helps us rise above external challenges and make a difference. To this end, The PLAYERS committed $1 million to the Flagler Healthcare Foundation to further the work being led by Flagler Health+ within our schools.

THE PLAYERS gift will help improve access and support through a new program called B.R.A.V.E.-Be Resilient and Voice Emotions. The partnership between Flagler Health+ and our school district provides increased services in the area of mental health for our students. The ability to connect students to resources is paramount to helping them adjust, adapt and focus on positive behaviors and relationships.

While the holiday season rushes in, I encourage you to be patient with yourself, show care to others and enjoy your family and friends. This time of year is special and every day is a gift. May God bless all of you and your families this Thanksgiving and may you have a joyous, safe and restful holiday!

Sincerely,

TIM FORSON, SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS,
ST. JOHNS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
