Fall is full of delicious imagery, smells and tastes! While we are still enjoying warm weather, our days are starting to grow a little shorter, evenings are a little cooler and the breeze brings with it the vision of pumpkins and changing leaves. We have all settled into our school routines, and this month we will get the first real glimpse of how our child is adjusting to school.
As you reflect on your child’s first month of school, we bring you articles on sparking the love of learning and understanding your child’s learning styles. Our authors also advise on helping your child build friendships.
Cyberbullying is a national issue, and this issue contains information on how to prevent cyberbullying. It also explores methods on how to teach your child self-control, an important life skill.
We are introducing a new feature this issue – The Book Nook. Check out these recommendations for great reads! As always, our fashion spread features local children in fun fashion. Our family things to do section offers fun events, and our website contains even more that the printed magazine. Please checka us out on your computer or mobile device.
We love interacting with our readers. Many of you have contributed pictures of your children heading off into the school year. Be sure to check out our Back to School photo spread on our website. While you are there, reward yourself by signing up for one of our contests. Keep those cameras handy! We would love to see fall pictures of your children. We will be hosting a Halloween gallery on the website in early November.
As always, we want to hear your feedback on the magazine. Let us know what you like and what you would like to see in the future.
Best wishes for a warm and
cozy fall,
Dr. Barbara C. Holley
