Dear Friends and Families,
We hope your school year is off to a wonderful start! It’s a busy time of year as children settle into new routines with their teachers and begin building those friendships and habits that will last for years to come.
As parents we are also readjusting to the school year’s routine, balancing professional responsibilities and family time with our loved ones.
It may feel like we have fewer hours in the day to spend with our children, who seem to grow up so quickly, and maximizing those precious moments with them are important.
In this issue of Parent Magazine, we’re offering myriad ways to stay connected to your little ones – and even those a bit older, keeping them motivated and helping them set a solid foundation for critical life skills while strengthening family bonds in the process.
We hope you will take a few moments to browse the pages. Our “Better Balance Screen Time” article builds on the concept of communication and is an excellent reminder of the benefits of technology and the pitfalls, and how to ensure you and your family are maintaining a healthy balance. Creating dedicated family time gives everyone something to look forward to throughout the week.
This issue also provides in-depth articles on helping your child become a better listener, feeling confident in his or her decision making and maintaining positive momentum throughout the school year. Setting a positive example for your child by being present, focused and engaged is one of the most valuable gifts you can give them.
We’re excited the new school year has started off with so much promise and hope that our contributions to your day make them a bit easier and brighter!
We welcome your feedback about the magazine and are curious to know if there are topics you’d like to see addressed in future issues. Have a great month, and we’ll see you again soon!
